Wardrobe From Iconic Soap Opera, Guiding Light, to be Donated to New York's Bottomless Closet
Bottomless Closet NYC announced today that iconic soap opera, Guiding Light, is donating a portion of its wardrobe to help economically disadvantaged New York City women enter and succeed in the workforce.

NEW YORK, NY, July 16, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The world's longest-running soap opera will end its 72 year-run this coming September and will provide Bottomless Closet with the show's stock of women's business appropriate clothing, shoes, jewelry, handbags and accessories.

"Since we film in New York City, it seemed fitting to donate the clothes to Bottomless Closet and help women in our community to improve their lives," stated Shawn Reeves, Guiding Light's Costume Designer. " High unemployment rates make it more crucial than ever for women to have the right outfits for job interviews and to remain competitive in the workplace."

Guiding Light's donation will become part of Bottomless Closet's 'boutique' at the organization's headquarters in the Hotel Pennsylvania. Women who are referred to Bottomless Closet receive two complete outfits prior to going on a scheduled job interview and can return for three more outfits once they find employment. Over 1,600 New York City women will be outfitted in the Bottomless Closet boutique this year.
