The Style Network's Ruby comes to the DFW Metroplex for filming at Plus Teen USA Pageant and Conference to mentor and inspire contestants.
Ruby Gettinger the morbidly obese southern belle who chronicles her inspirational weight loss journey on the Style Network's reality show, "Ruby", will mentor plus size teens for filming on her show at the Plus Teen USA Pageant and Conference at the LaQuinta Inn & Suites in North Arlington.

ARLINGTON, TX, September 28, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- During the weekend of October 23-25, 2009, young ladies ages 13-19 who wear size 12 and up (13 in juniors), will gather together from all over the United States for fun, friendship, education, and inspiration from "Ruby" and phenomenal self-esteem building panelists to celebrate themselves in the skin they're in, while discovering their full potential. Contestants will walk away with a renewed sense of self esteem, self awareness, self image, self acceptance... SELF. Following the Plus Teen USA Pageant, 2009, which will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 25, one of the contestants will walk away with the title of Plus Teen USA, 2009, a beautiful crown, a scholarship, the privilege of being on the Summer, 2010 cover of Tiara Magazine, and numerous other fantastic prizes.

On Saturday, October 24, from 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., plus size women and teens will join our contestants for "An Afternoon with Sharon Quinn & Friends" conference, which will include plus size modeling tips, training, and individual evaluations from none other than Sharon Quinn, the 6 foot, shaved-head beauty known as "The Original Runway Diva" who is infamous for her appearance on all three seasons of the Oxygen Network's popular "MoNique's F.A.T. Chance". Quinn will utilize her modeling expertise to instruct "Ruby" on walking with confidence, style, and grace. Conference attendees will also enjoy body image discussions, a "Uniquely You" fashion show by plus pageant titleholders, providing wardrobe consulting for various body types, make-overs and photo shoots for portfolio development, and of course, a delicious luncheon.
