This Week's TV: Merlin spells magical entertainment!
Merlin scooped Best New Drama at the TVQuick & TVChoice Awards last week and Anthony Head tells TV Choice why the show has been such a hit.

LONDON, UK, September 13, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Merlin scooped Best New Drama at the TVQuick & TVChoice Awards last week and Anthony Head tells TV Choice why the show has been such a hit.

'People come up to me and say at last there's a show we can sit down and watch as a family and I think that's absolutely fantastic,' explains Anthony, who plays Arthur's father Uther Pendragon, and is best known for his roles in Little Britain and Buffy The Vampire Slayer.

'It offers romance, magic, sword and sorcery and adventure. It appeals to all ages.' TV Choice has more about the new series starring Colin Morgan as Merlin, Bradley James as Arthur, while Mackenzie Crook of Pirates Of The Caribbean and The Office fame guest stars in the opening episode.

Meanwhile we have all the glamour and excitement of the TVQuick & TVChoice Awards with plenty of pictures and coverage from the night which saw EastEnders, Coronation Street, Waterloo Road's Denise Welch and Ashes To Ashes' Philip Glenister among the big winners.

Elsewhere, Martin Clunes talks about Doc Martin, and Vernon Kay again hosts All Star Family Fortunes. Charles Dance chats to us about his new drama Trinity, while two soldiers share their brave fight for survival in Wounded.

In EastEnders Janine's behaviour becomes more erratic, while there are fireworks in Coronation Street when Luke dumps Rosie for Michelle. In Emmerdale Michael has some devastating news for Debbie, and Doctors' Lily finds herself in a deadly situation. Kris, Zak, Elliot and Archie are shocked when the owner of the money they found takes drastic measures to get his cash back in Hollyoaks. And in the Aussie soaps there is tragedy in both Neighbours and Home And Away.

There is also a brilliant four-night break in Rome for two to be won in this week's TV Choice competition.
